Fake ID Photo Guide - Take a Perfect ID Photo

You are spending good money on a fake ID, so the photo matters. We edit every photo we receive, but a blurry, shadowed or low-resolution photo cannot be fixed into a DMV-quality picture. Follow the 5 steps below to take a perfect ID photo, the same kind of picture a DMV would accept, and your FakeYourDrank card will look like it came straight from the DMV.

THE QUICK VERSION: real camera (a modern phone is OK) → plain wall → dark clothes → 6-8 ft away → flash on → head straight, no glasses.
Heads up - date of birth on older-version states. Some states (for example South Carolina, Texas and California) are produced as older but still fully valid design versions. For these, the date of birth is automatically adjusted to match the version we produce.
📷 1. The camera

USE: a real digital camera with 20+ megapixels. A modern phone in good light is OK if a camera is not available.

DON'T: low-res webcam, old phone, screenshot of another photo, cropped social-media pic.

🏠 2. The background

USE: a plain wall, single colour, light or neutral. Wear dark clothing for contrast against the wall.

DON'T: patterned walls, outdoor scenes, light clothing on a light wall, people or objects in the shot.

👤 3. Face & pose

Head straight, eyes clear, neutral expression, no glasses and no hat. Keep face and hair neat, hair behind the ears and off the eyes. Do not smile big: closed mouth, slight neutral expression.

📍 4. Distance + lighting
  • Stand 6 to 8 feet away from the camera, framed waist-up
  • Flash ON - we handle cropping and colour balance
  • Balanced lighting - no yellow or red tint, no harsh shadows on your face
  • Camera at eye level - not below or above
🚫 5. Auto-reject - photos to skip
  • Selfies or zoomed-in head shots - we need waist-up
  • Pictures taken outdoors or in sunlight
  • Photos of your phone screen
  • Wearing a hat, hood, glasses or face covering
  • Multiple people in the shot
  • Photo with text, watermark or timestamp overlay
